Comments from other sources

This is the spot to post comments from other sources. You may do so by leaving the a copy/paste as a comment (remarks and/or rants .)

1. You must indicate where the written comments are from. Example: Joe Pharisee left a comment on a Yahoo forum in regard to baboon flossing. He posted... and paste your comment.

2. Date and time AND web link. If you don't include the exact link, we can't verify the comment.

3. Factual. Nothing altered

We have this nifty right in the United States: freedom of speech. It is not harassment, stalking or libelous to discuss a public figure, to state opinions concerning a public figure, or to report factual information concerning a public figure. Public figures are considered (but not limited to): politicians, talk show hosts, movie stars or recording stars.

Public figures choose to expose themselves (figuratively) to the public and hence must accept that they have given up their privacy as it pertains to their public life. Any and all personal issues that they choose to bring to the public's attention (think Spears and her shaved head) are thereby open to scrutiny.

If a talk show host can "rag" on the president of the United States, the world can "rag" on the talk show host. If someone is too thin skinned to understand this, they really shouldn't assume the role of a public figure.

This blog does point out the counterproductive and often harmful nature of fundie thinking. That is this blog's theme.

Because this is an open forum, language must remain appropriate for all ages and comments are required to be civil. We encourage a variety of opinions, even those we strongly disagree with, but if posts are deemed to be too inflammatory they will be deleted. Posts and republished comments contained in public chat logs will remain as they were originally posted since they are offered in their entirety for discussion/opinion purposes here and are to the best of our knowledge, the actual words of the poster to which they are attributed.
